"A footie sim with many options and fast gameplay. Quite good, with mode 1 cute gfx and nice scrolling, but a small playing area. Match Day II is still the best, despite it coming out 1 year earlier."

"Everything a footy fan could wish for, management mixed with arcade... the best footy sim on the CPC."
cpc4eva says
"Emlyn Hughes played for Liverpool so a good omen for this game. Undoubtably the best management and footbal game on cpc. Football Manager 2 is the best management game but Emlyn Hughes is the football game that combines actual arcade play and management together. Drop down windows are a pain :("

"Best footie game on the CPC? It's certainly got a big argument for it! Certainly the best soccer 'simulator', or at least the most accurate with a massive range of options and settings pre-game (and management, seasons, cups, etc!) and in game a large range of manouvers and ways to kick the ball (multiple directions and different power levels, heights, etc). Some may feel it's not really a 'pick up and play' type game compared to Italy 1990 and Italia '90, plus it's at a more sedate pace - but longevity wise you'll be playing it forever to truly master the game."
