Army Moves is another of those games that sits you in the pilot seat of vengeance in a war torn world - that?s right folks the world is yet again on the brink of war and you are the only person (apparently) that can put an end to the death and destruction that surrounds you, blast your way through wave after wave of choppers, tanks and jeeps in this non-stop arcade game.
Note: Isn?t it good how we sound like we know what we?re talking about.

Graphics

Having seen almost every conversion of this game the CPC version looks superb for an 8-bit machine, colours are great, sprites are clearly drawn and the game-play area is a whole lot larger than expected (just look at Golden Axe and Robocop). Though the game doesn?t run at any major FPS it?s a pretty good job it doesn?t because you would find yourself in a whole heep of dog poop. Very well coded and presented by Dinamic and a worthy contribution to the "Imagine" series of games.

Sound

Sound on the other hand is a little boring, the music must consist of 1 track only (speaking from experience in tracking software) and to loop something like that over again is only going to bore and eventually annoy the person playing the game. Having said that the music can be turned off and everything else is pretty nice indeed.

Gameplay

Gameplay is what you expect from an arcade shoot-em-up of this type with a few twists in the tale, for example you can actually leep over holes in the floor which to us at least is a very neat trick for a standard jeep. It?s not as fast paced as Silkworm but it?s still well and truly worth playing, it even comes in two parts though you must complete the first one in order to progress through the game - sad but true so don?t go jumping to part 2 without the access code.
Although it?s a little tough and some might find it that little bit too slow it?s a classic example of arcade gameplay from the 1980?s and one that must be played on one format or another - we suggest the CPC version of course.
