Anarchy

Rebels are planning a terrorist strike. They have hoarded tons of weapons, and you have been assigned to go to Sentinel 4 and throw a spanner in their works. Using your Ace Mk2 Interceptor Tank, you must blast your way through 16 warehouses.

Sounds simple? Well, it is and it isn't. The concept is extremely simple, but you cannot shoot a crate of weapons you are standing right next to, you have to be at least 1 space away. With puzzles and tight time-limits added to the mix, you have an addictive and frustrating game!

Graphics

They are visible, colourful Mode 0 graphics, they move smoothly. Everything is clear. The scrolling method used is good. The monsters are well animated, although your tank is not. The tank looks nothing like a tank on the CPC, it looks more like a ship, but that is due to the Mode 0 limitations.

Sound

The intro screen music is excellent. One of the best pieces I've heard on the CPC. The in-game sound is limited to fx, which are well designed and do the job well.

Gameplay

Its a simple game to play, it lures you in with the relative ease of the earlier 5 levels, once you get past these the game becomes extremely tricky, requiring precision timing and shooting the crates in a precise order to survive the droids. If you can manage to get through all 16 levels, it does seem a bit short. This is a game you will keep coming back to in order to complete, but once completed, theres little to draw you back.

Anarchy is a decent, if not a little too difficult and too short, puzzler. If you are easily stressed, then prepare a hospital place as you will most likely get a hernia playing this game!
