Angleball is the traditional game of Pool played on a new look hexagonal table. With a wide selection of table sets to play you can either play against your Amstrad or your friends with complete control over angle, speed, side-spin and more get ready to play the new pub game of the future.

Actually this game has since been implemented in many public houses since the original release of this videogame classic and this is the best way to get some practice.

Graphics

As you expect from this type of game there?s not a lot to say about the graphical side unless they are potentially bad, in the case of Angleball the graphics are spot on with the right colours in the right places and a very nice easy interface for the user to get to grips with. There isn?t anything bad to say about the graphics in this Mastertronic title so we won?t bother trying to dig a few out for you.

Sound

Sound is surprisingly good however with a nice introduction theme on the start/options screens, accurate sounds in the game itself and a few other nice surprises. We?ve played our fair share of pool games on the 8-bit platform but this is certainly one of the best sounding.

Gameplay

Gameplay is also very good, if you?ve every played Pool (who hasn?t?) then you?ll instantly get to grips with this new spin on the classic, The idea is much the same, sink all the balls in order without making too many mistakes and you?ll be fine.

The only major difference is the shape of the table but since this game has made it?s own way into pubs and night clubs over the past year or so it?s easy to play and good fun, also a nice way for those that can?t sink an entire ball to get some practice. All in all this is a very nicely presented game that was ahead of its time when released (1987 we think) and is well and truly worth checking out.

Go grab it then!
