Alien Attack is a simple little game that straps you into a high power spaceship destined to destroy all the little alien ships before they destroy earth. You know something? I?m sure I?ve heard all this somewere before.

Graphics

Alien Attack is a fairly simple clone of the Namco classic "Axiens" and naturaly has pretty similar graphics. The little multi-coloured enemy fleet move about in random attack waves while you sit comfortably at the bottom of the screen. There?s nothing new about Alien Attack really, certainly nothing that makes it stand out from the many clones out there on your CPC but its very much a long way from looking naff or being a bad game.

There?s no graphical glitches and it runs very fast indeed, which is more than can be said for more well known titles cough super space invaders cough

Sound

Sounds is again fairly basic but quite nice in that nostalgic kind of way, the bleep as you fire, the whistles as the enemy attack and the explosions just add to the feeling of 80s coin-ops. Quite nice really.

Gameplay

The idea of the game is simple, avoid oncoming enemy fire and in some cases the enemy ships themselves as they commit suicide in an attempt to stop you from winning. It gets rapidly more difficult as you progress through the game and the attack waves get more and more fierce.

There?s no slow-down, no major bugs and it really plays fantasticaly well on your old 464. Not a lot more you could ask for in a basic shoot-em-up, well worth a try too!
