Go across a stunt track and speed track in order to qualify to race against the champion in this isometric 3D driving game from Atari.

This game was a revelation in the arcades and made the transaction to most home computers perfecally. Sucessful versions include the Spectrum version and the 16 bit versions and the crap version was the C64. Does the CPC version join the C64 version in the crap conversion category or does it go into the sucessful one? Only this review will tell.

Graphics

The game starts of with a MODE 0 screen of the map and logo which featured in the arcade machine. This is a very good screen with plenty of detail and colour. The game however is MODE 1 or could even be MODE 2 with two colours, but features detail which is just as good as Freescape games. The speed is resonable considering the game style. When you crash, there is a nice good fast replay which

I didn?t expect would be included.

Sound

Only driving sounds but these are realistic sounds which you don?t get often in driving games.

Gameplay

You can choose which side of the road to start on which is an intresting touch. I kept wanting to come back to this game to try and qualify but it is very tricky to do so.

Overall:

This is a good arcade licence. It maintains the difficulty level yet is still a good game.
