Space Invaders have taken on a 3-Dimmensional effect, so you can now step into the future with this exciting game of 3D Invaders.

Your task is to prevent the encroaching aliens from bombing your laser base. Make sure you are positioned on a horizontal line directly underneath your target before firing. You are able to move in two directions at once while firing, but remember, there are 8 colour invaders screens of increasing difficulty, so go on, test your skill!

Graphics

With very little in the way of details, 3D Invaders looks like a type-in game and even then it would be an average one at best. The sprites are small and fiddly, making the game more confusing and difficult than it really has to be. The continually changing colour scheme is painful on the eyes and adds nothing to proceedings.

In terms of animation, movement is clunky and labouring with the Quarks moving faster when you are on a different grid point than themâ?¦

Sound

Alternating tones are used to represent the movement of the invading crafts and save for the odd uninspiring explosion when either you or one of the invadersâ?? ships are destroyed. Rubbish.

Gameplay

The greatest arcade game of all time, dissected, all gameplay removed and stitched back together for your entertainment! Simply put: 3D Invaders doesnâ??t work.

As mentioned previously, the poor graphics make the game confusing and almost impossible to get to grips with, even if you do you still wont find much of a game to play because itâ??s just hung together so badly.

The â??actionâ?? is slow and uninspiring and the whole enterprise is a complete waste of time and effort as youâ??ll end up just firing and moving in hope of hitting something.

A bad idea, done badly, 3D Invaders is a waste of magnetic tape/hard-drive space that once played you are unlikely to ever load again.
