A follow-up, of sorts, to Test Drive II and The Cycles, Grand Prix Circuit this time has you in the cockpit of one of the fastest cars in the world as you race around some of the most famous Grand Prix Circuits in the world.

Graphics

Similar in style and content to Test Drive II and The Cycles, Grand Prix Circuit is a curious symbiosis of the two. From The Cycles it has taken the bright colour scheme and backgrounds while Test Drive II has donated its scrolling and blocky textures.

Grand Prix Circuit is certainly a graphical improvement over both games and it seems as if the developers have learnt from previous mistakes making this game the best of the three in terms of its look although it is still a little too blocky for my tastes.

A slight gripe is the size of the cars compared with the road, which makes it difficult to pass your opponents (although, in fairness this is a fairly accurate depiction of a real grand prix â?? so weâ??ll let it go!)

Sound

Same as the other title, revs and other engine noises. Still a vast room for improvement.

Gameplay

Transferring the game engine into the world of Grand Prix certainly makes sense and for the most part the game benefits from this.

The player can choose any of the major car developers of the time Williams, McLaren or Ferrari (although your choice makes little difference on the easier difficulty levels) and itâ??s easy enough to get to grips with the controls.

Again, the sliding difficulty scale allows the player to learn at their own pace and with a little practice, youâ??ll find yourself entertained and coming back for more.

A natural progression, Grand Prix Circuit is far from perfect but does represent a nice motor racing challenge
