The Aliens attack once again and you are the only one that stands a chance of saving human life.
Graphics
Aliens is a completely different style of game when we compare it to the original and in terms of graphics in that respect it?s a whole lot better. Under the skin however the game could have been done a lot better than it was, the most stand out colour in the game is red which is used for just about ever area of every corridor you walk. Considering the CPC is capable of displaying far more colours than the game uses you can?t help but think it?s lazy coding.
Having said that the corridors have been designed quite nicely with a noticable amount of detail along the way, the main characters are well drawn and the aliens themselves look pretty scary. Considering it took a good 10 years or more to release any kind of good videogame based on this excellent movie it?s not overly bad.
Sound
The sound is very good indeed with a nice introduction theme and plenty of active sound throughout the game itself. Considering the game was coded a fairly long time ago and the lack of goodies present in the graphical side of things this is a very good attempt indeed.
Gameplay
Gameplay is also fairly boring and slow, it will take the average games player a good ten to 15 minutes before any action takes place so a lot of players may find themselves reaching for the reset button. The game itself is similar to the later release Space Crusade in that the player is wandering around scary corridors waiting to shoot anything that attacks them, the Space Crusade arcade was wonderful as it constantly threw new monsters at your face but Aliens on the other hand manages to avoid this and decides to bore the player rather than excite them.
