A very good Sega arcade game which was absolutly brilliant on the Megadrive and Amiga. It was considered worthy enough to feature in the Computer Warrior strip of the popular Eagle comic in the early 1990?s. You play a police officer who is a member of the Elite Special Weapons and Tactics squad as they attempt to clean up crime in Cyber City. You start of in ordinary police clothes, but after three levels, you get to use an advanced robotic suit. Amstrad Action panned it and gave it very low marks. Was it worth installing every CPC emulator I had to be able to run this game? Should I have read AA?s advice and stayed away?

Graphics

What can I say? Is it MODE 1? Is it MODE 0? Is it MODE 1 and 0 combined? What are the colours the programmers used? What do the characters look like? How on Earth could US Gold let these graphics out into the world of 1991 CPC? Even my five year old daughter could do better with the Advance Art Studio! I could hardly see anything.

Sound

Don?t get me started on this. A very bad tune which can?t be turned off

Gameplay

What playability! I knew that to review this game I had to play it but I didn?t expect to rush to turn off the emulator to stop playing it and send the DSK files of this game to the Recycle Bin. Even the controls are jerky and unstable. I know I won?t be playing this game again.

It was NOT worth installing every CPC emulator I had to play this. Don?t get me wrong, the emulators are very good, it?s just ESWAT that stinks.

The programmers get a point for trying their best (and succeeding) in giving us one of the WORST games EVER for the CPC. Why did US Gold let this trash get released? They should have given the job to someone else who could have done better.
