The most SINISTER, TOTALLY AWSOME COMBAT MACHINE IN EXISTENCE! Armed to the teeth you must blast everything in your gun-sights - aicraft carriers, fighter planes, patrol boats, warships, armoured tanks, choppers & heat seeking missiles!

Graphics

The graphics for Operation Gunship are average. There?s a very good use of colour, but this sacrifices detail to the graphics. Everything is recognisable, although still basic. There is a nice "roll" effect of the playing area at the start of each level, though!

Sound

There?s bog-standard gunfire and explosion sounds, and a tune on the title screen that sounds typically Codemasters - neither rubbish nor brilliant. One problem that really stood out for me is the EXTREMELY annoying alarm sound when your armour is low. Surely there could have been a less headache-incuding solution? Maybe a small flashing cursor on the armour meter?

Gameplay

All in all, Operation Gunship is a very fun game to play. The game?s difficulty level is just right, and always kept me coming back for more back in the day. Also, did anyone notice how similar this game and Desert Strike are? Desert Strike was released two years later...
