Sherwood forest has been taken over by a evil and ruthless Cult. Robin and his men fight on bravely, but the odds are stacked against them. You, as Friar Tuck are their only chance of survival. Solve the clues hidden in the rhymes and destroy the evil force.

Graphics

Mastertronic are known for having a pretty limited though excellent use of colours in most of their extensive catalogue, The Curse Of Sherwood is no different to this rule as once again colours are limited but detail is kept high.

The limited number of colours in the game have been used wisely throughout the various "rooms" or stages to illustrate the evil cult and the many various enemies you will come up against. All of this also helps to build up the atmosphere of the game, dull, dark and very evil.

Great work indeed.

Sound

Sadly there is once again a distinct lack of music in this title, something that could have seriously boosted the atmosphere of this title. However a good use of sound effects has been put into the game itself and easily makes up for the lack of music.

Gameplay

There are many people around the world that swear blind Mastertronic are one of the best development teams that ever surfaced on the old 8-bit machines, in many ways I agree with that statement as there are quite a number of highly rated titles.

The Curse Of Sherwood is one game that I would gladly sit in that pile as it truly is one title that makes you hit the play button over and over again. Highly addictive and extremely playable, we suggest you try it.
