Cosmic Sheriff is what you would get if you crossed the awesome arcade games Operation Wolf and Space Gun but as you will see in our review Dinamics Cosmic Sheriff is missing something that both the arcade hits offered to the many fans around the world. Sending a cop into space is not a good idea in our opinion.

Graphics

At first look Cosmic Sheriff does indeed look great on our beloved CPC, an awesome looking loading screen and some very bright colours and highly detailed graphics in the game itself help to back those first thoughts up.

However the game is missing something that games of this nature usually offer the player, the chance to move left or right through the corridors and blow the crap out of those aliens. Instead we are stuck in the same place shooting over sized aliens in space suits and the occasional UFO, could have been so much better but sadly wasn?t meant to be.

Sound

Sound is a little of a let down too, sure we get some music to listed to at the start of the game but it is nothing compared to some other great tracks by Dinamic and the in-game sound effects are far from immersing, though we should be thankful we have any sound at all as some developers have a habit of leaving this out altogether.

Gameplay

As we mentioned earlier the player is placed in the same spot and has to shoot the aliens and UFOs coming out of the ships door, time it correct and they will pause and explode, miss the timing and he/it walks free but does little damage to your health. The only thing you have to keep an eye on during play is the timer in the bottom right corner, once this hits the bottom you are looking at the options screen again.

Considering the genre and the obvious links to Operation Wolf and other shooters it is certainly missing some very important elements and even the most die-hard fans will not be overly impressed with this one.
