After the not so popular first Fruit Machine game by Codemasters they decided to give it another shot by releasing a new sequel that promised better features, more interaction and a better chance to win money.

As with all Fruit Machine games there isn?t a story as such, other than you have been shoved in front of one of the meanest fruit machines in the arcade and have been challenged to beat the high-scores already in memory and get a little extra pocket money...although you?ll spend a lot more than you get back and that?s a promise.

All the comforts of gambling only this time you don?t earn any cash and you don?t loose any, the sequel is much better than the original which is something of a first as we all know that in many cases part 2 is a lot worse than part 1.

Graphics

When comparing Fruit Machine Simulator 2 with the earlier Fruit Machine Simulator by the same people we found that this was much more playable with better sound, graphics and gameplay.

The graphics are yet again well drawn with full animation on the reels and even more flashing lights to attract and distract you from concentrating on earning some cash. The mini games that pop-up after hitting the final letter of "Mega Trek" are much more entertaining as a lot of thought has gone into the kind of game features could be implemented into a fruit machine.

Sound

Sound is also better than the original and it does now grab your attention when you are on the verge or winning a pot load of money (no honestly), again we hear the reels spinning when you hit space but with added sounds to the mini-games it?s just good stuff overall. Players of the original will also notice that Codemasters have dropped the egotistical "Codemasters" sampled speach from the start of the game which is certainly a good thing.

Gameplay

With better graphics and sound the game is a lot more playable now than the original that cam before it. Sure nothing much as changed and you still need to have good timing and observation skills to win any cash on the mini-games but it just makes you want to keep inserting virtual money until you have nothing left. In terms of gameplay its pretty much as good as the classic Amsoft game.
