Daley Thompson is after a little extra cash yet again so the good guys at Ocean Software decide to give him another game, this time entitled "Super Test".

Yep it?s the Olympic time of year again, the time when women decide to dig out that old Keep Fit video and men decide to go down to the pub and have a few pints in front of the big screen and lets not forget the game developers strange urge to publish a game to celebrate the occasion.

Super Test is a collection of olympic style games that was responsible for breaking many joysticks and giving the player wrist injury, and it has many different stages of play, these are:

Pistol Shooting, Spring Board Diving, Tug Of War, Grand Slalom, Cycling, Rowing, Penalties and the Ski Jump. With all these different kinds of mini-games under one piece of software, a single cassette and the Daley Thompson name do they live up to expectation...read on.

Graphics

I?m sure that you have broken many a joystick with this game as you waggled back and forth just to get the little man to move from one side of the screen to the other and not remembering to press the fire button at the vital moment, only to see x - failed in the Qualify box - I know I have.

The graphics are great and Ocean have done a wonderful job of bringing the 1980s Olympic arcade games directly into your bedroom and have used as many colours as possible during the different stages and events. In some cases the graphics are comical, take a look at the diving screen shot to the left to see what I mean.

Sound

The sound again is pretty damned good, although a little quiet in certain stages and the music between them gets more than a little annoying - you have to wait for it to finish before you can start. Ocean has also given us a computer rendition of the Olympic theme tune "The Challenge" at the top of the game - anyone seen this before in another Daley Thompson game?

Gameplay

Playablity - now here?s a tough one, the game is great and practicaly nobody can deny not owning or playing at least one of these games when they were released but remember when I said you have to "waggle" the stick left and right to move anywere? well its the same with emulators only this time it?s your keyboard that gets a good hammering. After about 10 minutes of playing your wrist is far beyond any use and tells you to switch off now before your hand drops off.
