You are the Bounty Hunter, set in the Wild West (was there ever such a thing) your job is to bring in the low down dirty scum that walk about the town causing trouble (sounds familiar) stealing from the poor and murdering innocent people for no reason at all. Your reward will be thousands of dollars but your task will not be an easy one.

Graphics

Bounty Hunter lives up to the standard set by Codemasters with some superb colours on offer and a very nice playing area. Those that have played the Irem classic "Ikari Warriors" will no doubt be familiar with the style used in Bounty Hunter, there are plenty of enemies to shoot at, guns to pick up and some nicely detailed areas of the West to mosey on through as you collect the money.

We have seen a lot of these games over the past few months but this one has something that others don?t, it does look like the overhead level in Back To The Future 3 but manages to keep the speed up all the way through.

Sound

Bounty Hunter takes on the theme music from so many westerns featuring the rapidly ageing Clint Eastwood and does it very well indeed, thank god the music is switched off once the game starts though as you would miss out on the superb sound effects on offer. One thing we hated though was that every time you die the bounty you are collecting is shown again along with that annoying theme music! arrrgh.

Gameplay

Bounty Hunter is a fast paced action game from the perspective of a bird (overhead) and the style of the arcade classic "Ikari Warriors". Considering this title was released for the budget price of just £2.99 for your CPC it?s highly unlikely that Codemasters got any complaints about it.

There are no serious bugs in the game as it scrolls perfectly up the screen, the controls are superb and it?s not overly difficult to play. This is one for the casual and professional shoot-em-up fan and we actually recommend it.
