Bruno has uploaded the new version of CPC-Power, between all the extras, i have been helping with one in special, a continuation of my work in adding links to ZX versions.

Now and thanks to Lemon64 and LemonAmiga, you will find links to the C64 and Amiga versions in case the CPC  games exist for those machines. For example, Barbarian.

And in the next update of Lemon64 and LemonAmiga, the CPC links in their game sheets will be enabled and redirected to CPC-Power :)

Nice update.
And thanks for adding Amiga and C64 port links.  I was often clicking on the World of Spectrum link and then going to C64 and eventually Amiga from there  The update makes it quicker for when I don't need to see the Spectrum version. :)

Hm... new banner seems to like nudey girls of CPC games.  :P
Favorite CPC games: Count Duckula 3, Oh Mummy Returns, RoboCop Resurrection, Tankbusters Afterlife

Kris

Great job done, the site is really clearer than before...and the additional options for sorting are relevant .

SyX

Thanks for the good words, as always your feedback is welcome :)

Puresox

Wow that is really impressive, very quick operating it seems, looks like a great site got even better. Anyway enough blowing smoke up your ass .Cheers.

Nich

Overall, I like the new look, but the site is designed for very wide screens, and my screen resolution is set to 1152×864, so I have to scroll left and right to read all of the text, which is very annoying.

I also think the list of updates on the front page needs to be improved. It only shows a limited number of updates, and if a lot of updates are uploaded in one go (which is usually the case), some of them are not listed.

Puresox

Yeah you have a  point with regard to the wide screen, shame there isn't an option to toggle, unless there is that I don't know.

EgoTrip

Looks good.

Maybe you could make the machines listed at the top clickable to a page with details of that machine?

The crtc apart is great.

One suggestion: More type  of icons to the cartridge games.

I mean in cpc power when you searh  dump cartridge. You always view the "gx4000 dump cartridge icon"

And this is a problem, because not all cartridges with this icon works in the gx4000.

Imagine you not know nothig about cpcs. You made your custom cartridge, buy a eeprom (you not have a uv erase). And you see in cpc power a "rick dangerous with a gx4000 dump icon" As this(for example): http://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&num=1798 or beyond the ice palace etc etc...

You download it, burning it. And voila you get black screen, and you lost 5eu XD.

So I think the cartridge icon need be differenciated. One if it works in gx4000, one if it only works in plus, and maybe other diferent if they work in both systems.

You'd need 3 then, One for GX4000 and above, One for 464plus and above, and one for 6128plus only. Rick Dangerous as detailed in your link is 128k only.

Noo, dump number 3: "Adaptation sur cartouche pour GX4000". And thats false(because he need fdc). :P. Another is amstrad classics for example, they boot in the gx4000. But you not can't play it, because you not have keboard jeje. Same as international karate plus. Gx4000 dump icon and "Adaptation sur cartouche pour GX4000", but it not work in gx4000.....

I update the relevant Wiki page with a link of a program once a disk and/or tape image is available on Power, just so people don't find out the hard way a program is available.

I was to understand you don't like Uploads onto the Wiki itself.
* Using the old Amstrad Languages :D   * with the Firmware :P
* I also like to problem solve code in BASIC :)   * And type-in Type-Ins! :D

Sure for CPC guys could be useful... but what would do any sensible person without cpc knowledge? First, try learn about the CPC.

You can ask in cpc forums, test in emus first, donate money to CPCWiki and CPCPower, ...

If you don't want to learn, it's your problem, better get interested in Megadrive or another console  :P

Oh yes, I know and appreciate it, it's just that bigger projects with tons of work don't find any volunteers...

Which are those big projects that you are lacking of help? Maybe you need to make publicity about them for getting people interested in help with them.

My work in CPC-Power is made during my off-line moments, instead of making a puzzle or another sudoku, i mix databases or test cpc games searching for its use of hardware FXs or another things interesting for me. And when i have enough of those things, then i send a list to Bruno for he can update CPC-Power.

In the same way, when the future spanish wiki will get online, i will have a lot of work, because i want to OCR all the spanish magazines, but as all my crazy ideas, those are so nerdy  that if i don't make them, nobody will do :P

Gryzor

Oh, I have mentioned them every now and then - with my biggest wish being a gamebase on the wiki - proper, standardised entries for all the games...

robcfg

On the latest CPC-Power update, Kukulcan included the links to the Dragon versions of some games.

There are 26 games in common. Not much, but interesting anyway  ;D

Something like gb64 or pcwwiki?

Gryzor

Yup, something like that. I already have a list of games along with their details that needs severe cleaning so that I can import to the wiki...

Interesting...  ;D

Lazy Dude

right well as this is the cpc power thread, I can ask my dumb question!
Whats the difference between a black disc and a blue disc symbol for downloads?

McKlain

Blue disk = Original

Black disk = Copy (Pirated/Hacked/Unprotected/With trainers)

Lazy Dude

ahh ok thanks for that. Whats the trainers bit?
