So I have a Zaxon DDi5 which gives me the 128K. Can I play this game if converted to a .DSK image or does this game need some of the Plus features in order to work?

I am guessing it does.

Also is this the same for all GX4000 games ?

Thanks in advance.

Afaik the game runs on any CPC / Plus /GX4000 system, also with 64K of RAM but it will only run from a ROM cartridge. You won't be able to convert this to a DSK image.

The "real" GX games require running from cartridge as well as the special GX hardware enhancements, converting them to DSK would be complicated and you still need a Plus to be able to play them anyway.

The bulk of "converted" titles could be run, but since they're all conversions from DSK in the first place you might just as well get the original images.

Hello,

Alcon2020 doesn't need 128k or plus features to work. But the game is in cartridge format because it is 512k in size and would require several disk swaps during the gameplay, which is unacceptable for me (I am the developer)

There are several ways of playing Alcon2020 in a CPC464:

- Installing a cartridge port: you can get it from me.

- Installing a Wifi card + cartridge emulator board and play from Internet (with many other games). You can also get those cards from me.

- Installing a M4 board and running the cartridge image on it. The M4 board is sold by another user, search for it in this forum.
