History

Rainbow Arts was founded in Gütersloh / Germany in 1984. Because of their games for the C64 and the Amiga they became one of the biggest german game distributors.

The best known games by Rainbow Arts are Turrican, MadTV and The Great Giana Sisters and also well known people of the gaming industry like Manfred Trenz, Thomas Herzler and Chris Hülsbeck worked for Rainbow Arts.

Rainbow Arts was bought by Softgold and they were bought by THQ in 1999.
